Wheat Harvest

I mentioned a while back that I was excited about posting some pictures from wheat harvest in our area!  Before doing so, here are a few pictures I took one evening of a wheat field near our house.

The next evening the field looked like this…we blinked and missed all the action!

While I always enjoy taking pictures of any harvest, it does not always work out for me to be there when the work in the field is being done.  So, it was a true delight when I was present as the big machines worked their magic row upon row.  Special thanks to the D Family for allowing me to post these pictures!  🙂

Efficient Teamwork:

I loved being able to capture some pictures of wheat harvest this year…how it all works simply amazes me!

Senior 2014 – D {sneak peek}

I have known D for several years and am thrilled it worked out for me to take her Senior pictures!  In fact, we are splitting her Senior pictures between Summer and Fall so you will get to see her again before too long!  🙂

She is beautiful inside and out and I have no doubt God has great things in store for her future – can’t wait to see how He directs her over time!

Enjoy this look into some of what we caught during our time together!

Beautiful S

I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am about posting additional pictures from this young lady’s session!!!!  My camera loved her so much that I have had a HARD time narrowing down which pictures to share!

After visiting with S’s Mom, brainstorming on ideas to express this stage of S’s life and interests, previewing their sites and mapping out a plan, we were all set to go.  I could hardly wait, I just knew this was going to be a fun session – and I was right!  🙂

We started out at a family farmstead where S likes to find things to create with…she made the birdcage (for her favorite parrots) not long before our session started!

I simply love this picture…she has such beautiful eyes!

S wanted some pictures with this fun find at an auction.  We found the perfect place – right near the old carport and house!

When I asked S if she wanted any specific pictures with the old house she requested some shots inside.  LOVED that!!!

Before heading to site #2 we wrapped up with a few more pictures around this old farmstead!  So much to work with…we could easily go back there one day and walk away with a ton more pictures, no two looking the same!!  Look what we found along the way:

This old cellar and barn were at our 2nd location:

Our last stop included another old barn, complete with a super cool loft!

S desired some pictures with her guitar…I even had the privilege of hearing her play for a while.  🙂

We could not have asked for a better note to end upon…what a beautiful sunset!

S, I had a great time with you and your family!  You brought amazing ideas to your session, did a wonderful job picking out your attire and were such a good sport throughout the evening!  “Next time” I promise to bring some snacks to keep your tummy from rumbling!  🙂

Miss R – She turned 2!

In honor of R’s 2nd birthday her family asked me about taking some pictures for them.  We visited, planned out R’s session and anticipated working together.  When the day came, it was a bit windy but we found quite a few spots which protected us from the wind.  When we were out in the open we just had the wind work in our favor – I love how this little lady’s hair blows with the wind in some of her pictures!

R fell asleep in the car on the drive to her session…of course waking up to meet someone new and seeing them with a big black camera made her understandably cautious.  We just took it slow and, gradually, she warmed up and had some fun.  I actually liked being able to capture several sides of R’s personality – reserved, cautious, branching out, having fun and enjoying herself.  It is all about capturing someone as they are and that is how she was.  🙂

We stared out in an ally as she snuggled close:

As R began to feel more comfortable she interacted a little more, though still held a comforting hand from time to time.  🙂

When I set up this little station R really seemed to enjoy herself.  Gotta love a girl and her bling!

We took these sweet shots at a nearby park as we wrapped up R’s session.

It was an honor to preserve sweet R’s 2 year-old-cuteness through photography…a special thanks to her family for asking me to take pictures for them!
