The L Family

It sure was nice to meet and get to know the L Family in the process of preparing for and taking their pictures!  The day of their session, the weather was windy and overcast.  Since we were all game to make the session happen, we continued forward with our plans and I am so glad we did.  Although we had to work with the wind a little, things went well and their pictures turned out great! Their locations of choice were around their house and in a nearby field with a pond!  As we worked together, I loved snapping pictures of the kids interacting with each other.  What a fun group to work with!

Thank you, L Family, for entrusting me with your memories!

When we took the L Family’s silhouette pictures in the field, the sky was a striking blue with tons of clouds.  By the time we drove back to their house the sun had dropped below those clouds, producing terrific colors in the sky!  Even though we had already started to go different ways, I asked them if they would like to swing up by this pivot to snag another silhouette picture with all the color – thankfully, they didn’t mind!  I love the color, pivot and corn stalks which frame their family in this picture!  🙂

The Close of the Day

I have missed seeing sunsets lately.  Where have I been when the sun is setting?  What has the weather been like again?  What have I been busy doing as the sun said goodbye to another day?  Hmmmm, obviously, I have not been outdoors or near a window to see the setting sun.  🙁  Yet, I can recall a few times as of late where I have been driving or coming out of a store when the array of colors splashed across the sky grabbed my attention and I pointed it out to our kids.  Of course, because it was a busy “coming and going” moment, I did not have my camera nearby.  I remember even pulling off to the side of the road one day and hopping out of the car to snap a quick picture (or three!) with my cell phone.  Yet, I couldn’t quite get the quality of image I would desire with my phone.  All this said, posting these pictures are my way of getting a sunset fix.  🙂

Adorable Baby A

I love hearing from expecting Moms – there is just something about the anticipation of a little one that is very exciting!  This Mom contacted me months in advance and we began the countdown as her little girl finished growing within.  Then the day came!  Little Miss A was welcomed into this world by her loving Mom and Dad, life began to change for them in a whole new way and I received a call to firm up our date for pictures!  I couldn’t wait to meet this little lady.  I have had the privilege of taking pictures for her Mom and Dad before as well as some of their extended family, so getting to see them again was going to be fun and I considered taking pictures of their daughter to be an honor!

A was as adorable as I imagined, so sweet to hold and watch as she made her many facial expressions.  Her Mother and Grandmother came along for the session and brought lots of fun props and fabrics to work with!  A’s Grandmother was also a huge help as we took pictures, worked with natural light and kept A warm on a cold, Nov. day.  (Thanks!)

I am so happy for A’s Mom and Dad and she is super blessed to be in their family!

The K Family

Blogging about the K family brings so many things to mind!  How we first met, the things they have walked through, the incredible things God has done in their lives and the many things He is continuing to do…it is all amazing!  I consider it an honor to know them and to have taken family pictures for them!

Their location of choice was their farm – love that old barn!!!!  Despite the wind that day, we managed to capture some great photos for them!

Here are a few of the couple:

(Isn’t it awesome that they wanted to pull out the Harley and take some pictures with it?!)
