The S Family

When K first contacted me about scheduling a session, we ended up looking forward quite a ways since my schedule was pretty full.  We just hoped the weather would not be too cold and that there would still be some Fall color left to incorporate into their family pictures.  Thankfully, things came together without a problem!  We connected and spent most of our time in a small town.  The boys were a bundle of energy and I thoroughly enjoyed following them around, catching them in action amid taking family shots.  Don’t you just love the brother outfits their mom came up with? So fun!

These were captured in honor of L’s second birthday!  What a cutie!

The two people who started this family.  🙂

Their family as a whole…

This was such a great way to end their session – who doesn’t love playing in the leaves?

Thank you, S Family, for asking to me take pictures for your fun family!

2013 Senior – SC

Be prepared, this is a HUGE share!

You see, SC has a very special place in my heart.  Since marrying into the family I have had the privilege of being called her Aunt, watching her grow up, and witnessing God’s hand at work as He has fashioned her into the young woman she is today!  I simply love her quite strength, her sense of humor, her kind spirit, and her heart for God!  She is such an amazing individual and I am honored that she and her family came from out of state to have me capture memories of her senior year.  Between SC’s great ideas and my desire to take her to certain locations, she (willingly :)) spent A LOT of time in front of the camera – enabling us to get so many great shots!  This is especially impressive when you know HOW COLD it was while we were out taking pictures!  I kid you not, we would take a few pictures, she would hop in the car or wrap up with a coat, and then we would take some more!  (SC, you rock, girl!)  I love so many of her images and all for different reasons.  Most of all, I love her and am super excited about all God has in store for her future!

I also wanted to give a shout out to SC’s parents who made the trip to KS happen and for their assistance while we were out taking pictures!  Thank you!  🙂

Here is where we started that cold, breezy day:  SC desired some pictures with a horse and we just happened to have one.  🙂  D made his star appearance and worked rather nicely for us – most of the time.  I love the picture of SC making a face when he wouldn’t let her pull his head down.  She can be such a ham.  🙂  Then we were in and out of the car as we made our way toward some big, round hay bales.

By this time, SC needed to warm up a bit…but once she had a few minutes, she was ready to “jump” back in front of the camera.  My daughter also joined us for this adventure and I love how she came up with the idea of using fuzzy seeds out of a weed pod to blow away in the the brisk wind!  (two of my favorite images!)

After a quick change, we made another stop – love the light, that old truck and SC’s facial transformation!

Anyone with long hair probably understands the challenge of getting your wispy pieces to lay down, especially if there is a breeze.  M kept those ornery wisps in their place as we stopped at an old farmstead and a nearby creek with a cool bridge!  SC’s Dad also joined us and came to her aid a few times with a big blanket – her hero!  (It was awesome to have them along!)

All too soon we ran out of light!  🙁  We still had ideas!  We still had locations!  So, since SC thought she could handle more time in front of the camera (more of the cold), we headed out the next day too!  I was thrilled!  I have always wanted to take pictures of someone with this tree!  Yea!  SC loves to read and specifically brought all the old books you will see in the pictures below so we could use them in some shots.  I love them – they are so her!

We made a few more stops before the cold drove us home…We “swung” by a baseball field with her Dad’s love for the sport in mind.  SC also pulled out her ballet shoes in honor of the years she spent enjoying dance – so graceful!

And that was where we ended.  What a treat it was to spend time with SC and her family outside of holiday activities!

Thank you, again, for asking me to take your pictures, SC.  What special memories we made together that day!  I know God has some wonderful adventures in store for you as He uses your talents, abilities and heart for Him to further His kingdom!  I love you!

The D Family

I was tickled pink when this family asked me about taking pictures for them.  You see, they hold a special place in my heart.  I knew A before she met and married her husband, our daughter was in their wedding and we routinely get to see them, watching how their family of two increased to three when their son came along.  And he is cutie, let me tell you!  His personality is so fun, engaging and sweet…makes me want to take him home and keep him!

We had a lovely day for their session and made the rounds to some spots in my area which still had a splash of Fall color, though it was toward the end of Fall.  While taking their family photos, we also took some pictures of their son, W, in honor of his first birthday.  You will find that set of pictures under “kiddos” or by scrolling down to the next blog entry.

D Family, thanks for asking me to take pictures for you!  I loved every minute!  🙂

W – 1 Year Old!

Let me introduce you to W…he is a very happy, little guy and is such a blessing to his family!  I love seeing him across the way at church on Sunday mornings…clapping his hands, smiling at family, looking serious as he studies something – what a cutie!  The following pictures were taken (during a family session) in honor of his first year of life!  So glad his parent’s asked me to document this precious window in time for them!  🙂
