Flowers/Weeds

As I look around our “yard” I have come to think of it as “Dandelion Heaven”.  The heaven part is for their sake, definitely not ours!  Of course, as any kid would, our children enjoy picking the pretty yellow weeds, I mean flowers, and blowing the puffs that rise above all the other green growing out there!  Therefore, ensuring that the dandelions will continue to enjoy growing around our place!  Thankfully, these are NOT the only color around here.  We have numerous perennials that have been planted around our place but these lovely purple flower (yes, I know, they are weeds too) are abundantly growing in a nearby corral.  I love looking at them each time we drive by.  Don’t you just want to go lay in them?!?  The last set of true flowers were given to me by my thoughtful husband.  They smelled awesome, lasted quite a while, and touched my heart. undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

A Little Bit of Easter…

Before we are too far removed from Easter I wanted to post some additional pictures taken during this amazing holiday!  undefinedI LOVE blue skies!undefinedA little red maple in our yard…I love to get a Spring and Fall picture of it each year!undefinedTwo kiddos ready for Easter activities!undefinedBunnies…they are so soft!  I always forget how soft they are until I feel one again!undefinedChecking out their stash of goodies!

Happy Easter!

I will start off with the fun!! I sure hope each of you have had a great time with your kiddos and extended family as you celebrated Easter this weekend.undefinedYet, there is also the sobering aspect of Christ’s death and burial.  Whenever I see these locust trees I am reminded of the crown of thorns He endured for you and me, along with SO MUCH more!  I guess that is one good thing that comes from having them around the farm.  Each time I see them it keeps me humble before the Lord and filled with gratitude for all He willingly (isn’t that amazing?!?) did for us!  WOW!undefinedHow glad I am that He did NOT stay in that tomb!  For as we celebrate today, He rose from the dead and LIVES!   What an amazing miracle!undefinedHave a wonderful day reflecting upon all He has done and all He makes available to us!

Tulips

While set up for a yard sale this past weekend these lovely tulips kept calling my name!  Despite the harsh sun I snapped away…here is what I got.  Oh yea, the last pictures is a little bouquet given to me by a very special little person.  🙂  Love her creativity!  undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

I Was Reminded…

Yesterday we had some pretty nasty storms move through our area!  We had strong winds, heavy rain and tornado warnings – thankfully, no damage or actual tornadoes!  Yet, about this time last year we had a truly wicked storm hit our area!  We had rain, weird clouds, a wall cloud, fierce winds and hail which came down horizontally because of the wind!  The hail pummeled the West side of our home and even broke a window!  Although the largest hail was about the size of a ping pong ball there was soooo much of it!  It looked as if it had snowed.  Here are a few pictures of what things looked like a year ago after that storm!undefined

The ground was covered with hail!  undefinedThe day was warm so what looks like “fog” is actually steam coming up from the hail!

Notice how the hail beat down the “weeds” in the foreground?  It stripped all the flowers I had coming up as well!  *sigh*undefinedThe weird clouds!  Guess they mean hail is coming.undefinedundefined The leaves were stripped off the trees and laying on the road!undefinedundefinedundefined The Wall Cloud over a wheat field – after it had hailed!
