Little Miss A

Isn’t this little one simply adorable?!?  Her dark eyes and sweet expressions just take me in each time I see her pictures!  (made me glad she was awake for so much of our session!)  A is undoubtedly surrounded by many who love her and are enjoying each new phase as she grows and matures!  I love how her family brought several special things to her session: blankets and quilts made by family and friends, a scarf sent from a grandparent, outfits that held meaning to them and a cool chalk board decorated by Mom!  Super sweet stuff to add to the pictures of a super sweet girl!!

Mom, Dad and Big Sis, it was awesome to spend time with each one of you…enjoy each moment, it goes by way too fast!!!!

Adorable Baby A

I love hearing from expecting Moms – there is just something about the anticipation of a little one that is very exciting!  This Mom contacted me months in advance and we began the countdown as her little girl finished growing within.  Then the day came!  Little Miss A was welcomed into this world by her loving Mom and Dad, life began to change for them in a whole new way and I received a call to firm up our date for pictures!  I couldn’t wait to meet this little lady.  I have had the privilege of taking pictures for her Mom and Dad before as well as some of their extended family, so getting to see them again was going to be fun and I considered taking pictures of their daughter to be an honor!

A was as adorable as I imagined, so sweet to hold and watch as she made her many facial expressions.  Her Mother and Grandmother came along for the session and brought lots of fun props and fabrics to work with!  A’s Grandmother was also a huge help as we took pictures, worked with natural light and kept A warm on a cold, Nov. day.  (Thanks!)

I am so happy for A’s Mom and Dad and she is super blessed to be in their family!

Celebrating 1 Full Year – Little Miss A

Little Miss A has one of the sweetest dispositions ever!  She is so easy going and generous with her smiles!  It was my privilege to capture some one year pictures for her.  🙂  Her mother did a fantastic job describing what she desired in A’s pictures and made pulling together A’s outfits and props looks super easy.  Since we were working outside, I am thankful to add that the weather was very pleasant and even the breeze did not hinder out end results.  🙂

I simply love all we captured in honor of A’s first year of life!  🙂

The C Family

I cannot even begin to tell you how much fun it was to photograph this couple and their little guy!  After weeks of sending e-mails back and forth, nailing down their session date, visiting by phone, thinking through locations, attire and props, and praying the weather would be pleasant, the time finally came to have them in front of the camera!

We met at their house and then made some stops through their small town (so much to work with there!) before we headed to a nearby public pond.

I really enjoyed getting to visit with them, learn about their lives and was amazed to discover our families had quite a few things in common.  🙂  I walked away from this session with a full heart…I love all that was captured for them through pictures, but I was especially touched by the obvious adoration these parents have for their son!

By the way, this little man’s Dad loves to hunt and is a volunteer firefighter for their area…you will see this represented in their pictures.

I love the honesty of children…do you think little C was growing tired of taking pictures?  🙂

It was confirmed with the following picture, Mr. C was done sitting here…

I remember the first time I looked through all the pictures from this session, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.  Their joy just made me smile.  Did you find yourself doing the same?  🙂

C Family, thanks again for asking me to take still photos of this sweet time in your lives!  Wishing the best to all three of you!

Baby H

I am so excited to be blogging about my session with this sweet, little guy!  He was so tiny, so cuddly, so super cute!  I loved getting to take his pictures!

I have really enjoyed having his parents in front of my camera numerous times through the years, following their relationship journey from the beginning.  It has been a privilege to watch their lives unfold and to be a part of it in a small but meaningful way.

We connected for baby H’s session at “his” house and captured pictures of him in the room this first time Mom and Dad lovingly put together for him.

We took pictures in the living room, where he is sure to romp about all too soon.

Then we headed outdoors, since the weather was warm enough, and snapped away.

In the following picture, we used items that were a part of the wedding decorations when this little guy’s Mom and Dad were married.  I love sentimental things like that!  🙂

The blanket used in the next few pictures was made by one of H’s Grandmas.  It is super soft!

Many of us had pets before having children.  While they maintain a special place within our family things do change a little.  🙂  The cat in this family is steadily adjusting to the newest member of the family, checking him out from time to time and reclaiming one of her favorite places once we finished using it for pictures.  🙂  H and the cat, Gorgeous, are going to make some good memories together as he grows up, that is for sure!
