It was a privilege to spend time with this wonderful individual! Our coffee and conversation were rejuvenating to the soul and, if that were not enough, amazing light was coming in through the windows of our location. I was itching to take a few photos in the great light, she was a willing subject and this is what we caught! J, thanks for your friendship; I deeply appreciate you!

Scenic Roots – Part 1
Well, this would be an official post on the session I had with Scenic Roots. 🙂
If you follow this site, you have probably seen the “sneak peek” and have read the “quick post” about the launch of their new CD, but this post, along with part two, will give you an even greater glimpse of the images we were able to capture. In part one you will see some individual (with and without instruments) highlights of the two girls that make up the group Scenic Roots along with the two of them together. In part two I will add their shots with instruments and some “pieces and parts” photos we took.
Be sure to click on their link and listen to the music video of “Orphan Girl”. It will give you an understanding of their amazing abilities!
Photos from their session have been used in the creation of the CD case which holds their new release, “Grounded”.
Sunflower Session Surprise
As I mentioned in the Sunflower post a while back, we saw something rather unique during that session!
While were were busy taking photos along the sunflower field a few pieces of farm machinery went by on the road right next to us. Each time they drove by it looked like a flock of birds would take flight for a while before landing in the trees again right across the road. Well, the young lady and her daughter that I was working with declared that they were not birds but butterflies! What? Butterflies? Sure enough, we went over to check them out and butterflies were covered the top branches of the trees! Now, I have seen hatching’s of little yellow and white butterflies but never monarch (?) butterflies – if this was a hatching…maybe they were migrating. (?) I don’t know. What I do know is that it was amazing to watch them fly around and to see them stationary in the trees.
So, below is my attempt to capture the butterflies high up in the tree with a mere 50mm lens, followed by a few more photos taken during the session. 🙂
Sunflower Session {sneak peek}
Here is a sneak peek of some images captured the other day in the lovely sunflower field mentioned in my last post! The weather was perfect, A and S looked lovely, the sunflowers were “just right” and we had a great time together! When I add some more photos from this session I will also show you something you do not see every day, we just happened to be “at the right place at that right time” – it was very cool. 🙂 Have a great week everyone!
Brother and Sister Duo
L and L, thanks for being such good sports during your Family session! These individual pictures of you were fun to take amid all the group photos! All the best to both of you!
